Phantom Sightings

Post by Anatole on Mon Jul 21, 2008 2:57 pm

Well, I know I kinda missed the boat on this one, but The Phantom of the Opera was on Oxygen on Saturday night. Did anyone see it? Besides me (because I'm probably the only girl of my age to be home watching television on a Saturday night. *sigh*)?
Anyway, what I want to start here is a place for anyone who knows ahead of time (through the magic of the TV Guide) that the movie will be on.
Previously, the movie has been on HBO and Cinemax and some other movie channels, but it's also been on the Hallmark channel, and most recently, Oxygen.
My parents, of course, ask me: Why do you want to watch a movie that you've already seen about a million times?
My answer: Because it's the best movie in the freaking world. (or something to that effect)
Oh, and cable television also makes their own comercials for the movie, and watching and then recording the comercials has become a little bit of a hobby for me (I know, I'm weird, right?). lol.

Ack. Some of my friends who recently saw the movie are like, WHY DO YOU LIKE THAT SO MUCH?!
Thankfully, there is a person who likes it in my circle of friends (thank goodness).

I watch it and it shows the part where Joseph is being killed by Erik and THEY TURNED THE CAMERA AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY DIDN"T SHOW HIM CHOKING!!! I WAS LIKE WTHECK!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????????????????????????????? I WAS TICKED OFF!

it was on T.V. a year ago, and I watched it in Spanish! The Spanish phantom sounded better than Gerard Butler!

I think Patrick was very good. No one ever mentions him. He was very good, as was Emmy and Gerry.

Whenever they show the movie on Hallmark or Oxygen, they always black out the guy's butt. You know, when he's mooning Carlotta? If they can't show a guy mooning someone, I'm surprised they can show all those statues in the theatre. The statues are topless, and no one blocks that out (I'm not saying they should, but still)! So why turn the camera away, or paste black over some poor shlub's butt, if they're not going to go all the way?
